Published Ogos 17, 2013) INDAH KABAR DARI RUPA: 'Tembakan tentera, gas pemedih mata di masjid Kaherah dengan dipenuhi penunjuk perasaan Islam' Pasukan keselamatan melepaskan tembakan peluru dan gas pemedih mata di tempat masjid El Fath di Kaherah selepas pertukaran bertempur di luar tertumpah ke dalam bangunan itu pada Sabtu. 

Beratus-ratus penunjuk perasaan pro-Morsi telah mengurung diri mereka di dalamnya semalaman. Keselamatan Mesir melepaskan tembakan peluru selepas lelaki bersenjata melepaskan tembakan pada keselamatan dari tingkap cerita yang ke-2 di sekitar 2 petang waktu tempatan. Satu-satunya lelaki bersenjata menembak bermula dari salah satu menara masjid, memaksa orang ramai sekitar untuk berlindung. Satu letupan kecil telah didengar oleh wartawan yang hadir di tempat kejadian.

“Tiada siapa di sini adalah selamat, mereka menembak di dalam masjid,” kata seorang wanita berkata kepada Al ‘Jazeera melalui telefon sebagai keganasan itu bermula. Tembakan kuat kedengaran di belakangnya.

Beberapa wartawan asing telah ditahan oleh orang ramai di tengah-tengah bermandi peluru. 2 wartawan Barat - Matt Bradley, The Wall Street Journal, dan Alastair Beach, Independent - telah diambil ke dalam kenderaan tentera untuk melindungi mereka sendiri.

Terdahulu hari ini, tentera aman masuk ke masjid, nampaknya aman untuk berunding dengan penunjuk perasaan dan beberapa telah berjaya menguruskan keluar yang selamat dari bangunan itu. Beratus-ratus penyokong Morsi berlindung di bangunan itu sejak bantahan bertukar menjadi ganas Jumaat. Masjid ini telah berkhidmat sebagai lapangan hospital dan mayat selepas tindakan keras.

Seorang ulama Islam, Sheikh Abdel-Hafiz el-Maslami, memberitahu AP bahawa orang-orang takut untuk keluar dari masjid takut tahanan atau kemungkinan diserang oleh orang ramai di luar.

Kumpulan kecil muncul dari masjid lewat pagi Sabtu. Ketua Sindiket Doktor ‘menceritakan Ahram Online yang 1,500 penunjuk perasaan dan 31 doktor telah meminta untuk keluar koridor selamat awal pagi.

“Mereka menuntut jalan keluar yang selamat kerana mereka takut jika mereka meninggalkan masjid mereka akan ditangkap dan dihina. Mereka mahu keluar di hadapan wakil-wakil hak asasi manusia, kakitangan media dan ahli-ahli para Doktor untuk memastikan ini tidak akan berlaku, “kata pegawai perubatan Ahmed Hussein.

Military fire shots, tear gas at Cairo mosque filled with Islamist protesters.  Security forces fired bullets and tear gas at the scene of the El Fath mosque in Cairo after an exchange of heavy gunfire outside spilled into the building on Saturday. Hundreds of pro-Morsi protesters had barricaded themselves inside overnight.

Egyptian security unleashed a barrage of bullets after gunmen opened fire at security from a second-story window at around 2 pm local time. One lone gunman started shooting from one of the mosque’s minarets, forcing the surrounding crowds to take cover. A small explosion was heard by journalists present at the scene.

“Nobody here is safe, they are shooting inside the mosque,” one woman told Al Jazeera by telephone as the mayhem began. Loud firing could be heard in the background.

Some foreign journalists were detained by a crowd amidst the ensuing shower of bullets. Two Western journalists – Matt Bradley, of The Wall Street Journal, and Alastair Beach, of The Independent – were taken into an army vehicle for their own protection.

Earlier in the day, soldiers peacefully entered the mosque, apparently to peacefully negotiate with protesters and some had successfully managed a safe exit from the building. Hundreds of Morsi supporters sought refuge in the building since protests turned violent Friday. The mosque was serving as a field hospital and morgue after the crackdown.

A Muslim cleric, Sheik Abdel-Hafiz el-Maslami, told AP that people were afraid to exit the mosque from a fear of detention or the possibility of being attacked by the crowd outside.

Small groups emerged from the mosque late Saturday morning. The head of the Doctors’ Syndicate told Ahram Online that 1,500 protesters and 31 doctors had asked for a safe exit corridor early in the morning.

“They demand a safe exit because they fear if they leave the mosque they will be arrested and humiliated. They want to go out in the presence of human rights representatives, media personnel and members of the Doctors Syndicate to make sure this will not happen,” medic Ahmed Hussein said.
